Frequently Asked Questions
- How many days have I been alive?
- Enter your date of birth above and the calculator counts the days between then and today, including every leap day along the way. It also shows the same span as weeks, hours, minutes and seconds.
- How many days is the average lifetime?
- A life of 80 years works out at roughly 29,220 days once leap years are included. Someone aged 27 has been alive for about 10,000 days, and 50,000 days would be nearly 137 years, which nobody has reliably reached.
- When will I be 10,000 days old?
- About 27 years and 4 months after you were born. The calculator shows the exact date of your next round-number milestone, which is usually a more interesting thing to mark than a birthday because almost nobody else is counting it.
- Does this account for leap years?
- Yes. The count is the real number of days between the two calendar dates, so every 29th of February you have lived through is included automatically rather than being approximated away.
- Why does the months figure not match days divided by 30?
- Months are different lengths, so the month count here is a true calendar figure: the number of whole months between your birthday and today. Dividing days by 30 gives a slightly larger number because the average month is a little over 30 days.
